
Located at 174, Jintang Road, Hedong District, Tianjin and established in August 1954, Tianjin Design & Research Institute of Electric Drive (TRIED) is an institute directly under the former Ministry of Machine Building. TRIED was registered as an enterprise legal person in June 2001. It passed the ISO 9001 certification for its Quality Management System in May 2002 and was approved as a “High-Tech Enterprise” in January 2003. TRIED, as a scientific and technological enterprise wholly-owned by China National Machinery Industry Corporation, is a major scientific R&D, manufacturing base of national electric drive and automation system projects, medium-and-small size hydropower complete equipment and LV electric control and distribution complete equipment.
TRIED is the national technical institute of centralized management for electric drive & automation, medium-and-small size hydropower, LV electric control and distribution industries, etc. It all the time attaches much importance to R & D of fundamental technology, particularly application technology in the industries engaged in, and maintain close technical cooperation and exchange with scientific research institutes, colleges and universities, tracing advanced development trends at home and abroad to continuously improve its technology and product level. For half a century, TRIED has obtained about 700 scientific research achievements awards (therein more than 140 are national and ministry level), having made outstanding contributions to national technology improvement and development in such industries mentioned above.
TRIED owns numerous prestigious professional and technical personnel in the industry, operation and management staff adapting to market economy competitions as well as workers with rich practical experience and excellent operating skills, among which there are more than 240 with intermediate or senior professional titles (including over 20 experts on national and ministry levels), covering 40% of the total number of employees. TRIED is not only provided with rich comprehensive technical strength and favorable R & D experimenting condition, but also equipped with manufacturing workshops with advanced facilities. TRIED can not only provide latest achievements in scientific research and perform corresponding industrialization development of high-tech products, but also provide advanced system engineering and complete equipment of corresponding projects for the client. In addition, TRIED also supplies complete set of equipments and devices manufactured by itself on electric drive and automation system engineering, medium-and-small size hydropower and LV electric control and distribution industries.
TRIED has undertaken approximately several thousand projects concerning electric drive and automation, medium-and-small size hydropower, LV electric control and distribution, both at home and abroad, with its designed projects and products in numerous fields like metallurgy, mine, energy, electricity, transportation, national defense, oil, coal, chemical industry, light industry, education, medical treatment, etc., covering America, Peru, Cuba, Romania, Albania, North Korea, Turkey, Iran, Kuwait, Afghanistan, Pakistan, Nepal, Thailand, Vietnam, Laos, Burma, Sri Lanka, Indonesia, Malaysia, Philippines, etc.. Through joint efforts of several generations of TRIED people, the research and development of electric drive and automation system of TRIED have experienced a fundamental evolution, from nonexistence to existence, from small-size to large scale, from weak to strong, from single set to complete set, from analog to digital. Products of electric drive and automation system marked with “TRIED” witness the development process of many industries, especially the development process of electric drive and automation in metallurgical industry of China,TRIED has grown into a famous domestic brand in the field of electric drive and automation.
